At Debriche Health Development Centre (DHDC), we are thrilled to share the exciting news of our recent award of recognition during the prestigious celebration of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF)'s 2 Million Lives in care milestone. We are deeply honoured to have been a part of this historic journey, and we are taking a moment to reflect on this achievement and express our gratitude to AHF for the recognition.
The occasion marked a landmark achievement of AHF's success in reaching the milestone of providing care to 2 million lives with more than half of the 2 million lives receiving care in Africa.
The 2 Million Lives in Care are not just numbers but people accessing care through a combination of medicine and advocacy - with improved access to prevention, care, and treatment programs through AHF with support of governments and relevant stakeholders. This achievement is a testament of AHF's commitment to improving the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS through comprehensive care, treatment, and prevention initiatives.

Debriche Health Development Centre has consistently supported AHF Nigeria's efforts in the implementation of vital initiatives and programs in Nigeria especially since 2020 in the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our collaboration has involved a range of activities from facilitating access to critical health services for adolescent and young girls, advocacy to stakeholders and communities for improved access to prevention, care and treatment to ensuring that individuals in need receive the care they deserve. The success stories we have witnessed attest to the power of collaboration in addressing the global health challenge of HIV/AIDS.

This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team at DHDC, as well as the unwavering support from our partners and community members. It symbolises our shared commitment to improving lives and advancing the fight against HIV/AIDS in alignment with the SDG3 goal to end HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria by 2030.
We are grateful to AHF for this recognition and for their ongoing partnership. Their leadership and vision have been instrumental in reaching this milestone, and we are proud to stand alongside them in this global effort.
We thank AHF for the recognition and the opportunity to be part of this historic event. As we celebrate this achievement, we are also inspired to continue our mission with renewed vigour. This goes beyond just saving lives but averting the suffering and pain of individual children, families and the social and economic impact of deaths due to HIV/AIDS in our communities.
TB remains a leading cause of death amongst people living with HIV and as an organisation that is aligned with the SDG goals, Debriche Health Development Centre remains a proud supporter of AHF and remains committed to supporting the efforts and vision of AHF that are aligned with our organisational values and objectives.
The journey ahead will undoubtedly present new challenges, but our commitment to changing poor health narratives across all primary health care areas, and willingness to explore innovative strategies will guarantee progress.
We look forward to prospects of future collaborations and many more years of working together to achieve even greater milestones, and to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Together, we are not just reaching milestones; we are transforming lives and building a brighter future for all.
With gratitude,
